Hasan Minhaj was born on September 23, 1985 in Davis, California, USA, to Muslim parents Najme and Seema. His Indian-born parents had immigrated to Davis, California where he was born and raised. He remained in the USA with his father while his mother moved back to India for eight years to complete her studies.
She visited the USA in between and gave birth to Hasan’s sister, Ayesha Minhaj, in 1989. Minhaj studied at the University of California and majored in political science. He married a Hindu woman Beena Patel in January 2015.
