Originally from Seattle, Washington, Harvey Danger became well-known in 1998 with the track “Flagpole Sitta,” which was also adopted as the theme song for the British comedy “Peep Show.” The band was founded in 1993 and rose to popularity with the single “Flagpole Sitta.” The Crocodile Cafe in Seattle hosted the band’s farewell concert on August 29, 2009, which marked the band’s last performance.
The band’s first album, Where have all the merrymakers gone?, has sold more than 500,000 copies worldwide, with the song “Flagpole Sitta” continuing to get regular broadcast across the globe to this day. Where have all the merrymakers gone? is scheduled to be re-released on vinyl as an LP by the indie record company No Sleep Records on July 29, 2014, exactly 17 years to the day after its original release.
