Haley Harrison Biography
Haley Harrison is an American news anchor for KMBC’s 5 and 9 pm weekday newscasts in Kansas City, MO with Steven Albritton. She also contributes to the station’s investigative reporting and special projects. Haley has previously worked for several Tv channels including WJLA-TV, 6News and NewsChannel 8.
During her time at TCU, Haley gained experience as a reporter, anchor, producer, and editor for TCU News Now, TCU 360 and The 109. Haley First Place Video (Shorter than 2 minutes) was awarded by Texas Associated Press and Managing Editors (TAPME) in Spring 2018. She was also honored with three TCU Jay & Gail Milner Awards for Visual Story of the Year, Enterprise Reporting and Interactive Story.
Haley interned at CBS 11 News while in the Dallas/Fort Worth area where she worked closely with the news reporters and investigation team. She also has experience working at ABC’s WFAA Television in Dallas with former Head of Investigation Reporting Brett Shipp.

From Aug 2006 to Nov 2007, general assignment reporting and anchoring the 10 p.m. newscast were her primary responsibilities at 6News. Because of the station’s ties to the Lawrence Journal-World, she also converted on-air stories into print for the daily. The position also included producing two newscasts a week.
She was the 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. anchor. In addition to producing duties, she reported regularly on general assignment news, court stories and investigations. She was the first to uncover the story of a local pastor who had been convicted in the death of a child decades earlier.
From Nov 2010 to April 2012, she shot, wrote and edited local news stories in the Washington D.C. metro area for NewsChannel 8 and sister station WJLA-TV. She was also selected for regular fill-in anchor duties on News Channel 8. Among her reporting, highlights were 18 hours of live coverage on WJLA through Hurricane Irene and coverage of two joint sessions of Congress from the U.S. Capitol, including the 2012 State of the Union address.
