According to city officials, three people were killed in a shootout at a shopping center in Greenwood, Indiana, on Sunday, which ended with a gunman shooting and killing himself.
The shooting began around 6 p.m., and two others were taken to the hospital. Greenwood Police Chief Jim Eisen said a man entered the mall’s food court armed with a rifle and several ammo depots and began shooting. The motive for the shooting has not been revealed, nor has the shooter been identified.
According to Chief Eason, among those injured were a 12-year-old girl with minor back injuries and another person in stable condition.
On Sunday night, Mayor Mark Myers stated that there was no further threat to the public and that the police department was in command of the situation. He warned people to avoid the area.

According to Police, he killed three people and injured two others in an Indiana mall before being shot and killed by an armed witness. Likewise, Police describe him as an adult man who opened fire on innocent people with rivals around six o’clock at Greenwood Mall.
The gunman, according to the police chief, killed three people over the weekend at a mall close to Indianapolis. Jonathan had a criminal record as a juvenile but not as an adult.
Greenwood Police Chief Jim Ison told reporters several people called 911 after the incident to report an active shooter at the Greenwood Park Mall.
