Going into the 2018/19 National Basketball Association (NBA) season, Grayson Allen, one of the league’s youngsters who drew a lot of people to see how impressive he will be on the court, was a 21st pick overall in the 2018 NBA Draft who was compared to respected ex-baller Bob Sura for good reason. Grayson has what it takes to be the best in the league in his time.
The young player had an impressive high school career and did even better in college. His triggering incidents gave him national publicity, albeit for the wrong reasons, but the boy was quick to put it behind him just in time to storm into the NBA as one of the shooting guards in developments to watch. Since his career is still in its infancy, a lot is probably not yet known about him, but here we’ll walk you through his past and catch up on where he is right now.

For his prowess, the talented shooting guard with a lot of zest for scoring points on the court picked up plenty of awards and recognition while playing in college. Notably, Grayson Allen became a 2015 NCAA champion along with his Duke teammates, he was named to First Team All-ACC, Second Team All-American – SN both in 2016 just as he was also named to the All-ACC Third Team in 2018.
While his college career was impressive, Graysonen also smeared a bit with some triggering incidents that happened at various times. He tripped Ray Spalding of Louisville, yelled at a referee and tripped over Xavier Rathan-Mayes of Florida State University in February 2016. Steven Santa of Elon University became his next victim, after which he was suspended from his team basketball varsity and subsequently stripped of his team captaincy. Upon returning to the team, North Carolina’s Garrison Brooks became its final tripping victim, after which he entered the NBA as the Utah Jazz’s 21st overall pick on June 21, 2018.
While Grayson Allen has found his way into the NBA, he should evolve into one of the toughest shooting guards in the league if all goes well for him.
Family – Parents
He is the only biological child of his parents Sherry – a human resources officer and William Allen – a government contractor, but we know he had a friend and brother – Tonan Ferrell whose mother gave up the adoption when he was only 8 years old. Tonan and Grayson were best friends at school and when Grayson’s parents learned of the hardships Tonan was going through, they thought it best to be a family for their son’s best friend. This friendship between the two boys continues to this day, as evidenced by Tonan’s social media posts showing pictures of him and his foster parents in his foster brother’s (Grayson) games.

The prodigy duke has for himself a beautiful quiva by the name Bailey Bunnell. The two have been dating since 2013, during which time she was in a long-distance relationship with Grayson as she was at the University of South Carolina. However, they met while still in high school and have maintained their relationship since then until now. Maybe in the near future Grayson could walk her down the aisle.
