A video emerged on Reddit showing a construction worker getting sucked up in a water pipe while working on a project in Taichung City. The incident took place on November 30, and the video surfaced on the internet in early December.

A graphic content that shows a video of Taiwan pipe death emerged on Reddit. The incident was captured on camera by an unidentified person who was standing above the trench while taping the construction of the Taiwan Water Corporation pipeline replacement project in Tanzi District.
The worker was shown sitting atop the steel pipe and using a lump hammer to smash out a 60 x 40-centimeter square piece cut by a teammate. However, he lost balance and fell forward when the steel plate finally broke.
He caught himself briefly, but the suction force created by the pipe’s vacuum pulled him into the pipe. His co-workers pulled him out of the pipe, but by that time, he had already stopped breathing, writes Get India News.
And when paramedics arrived to take him to the hospital, he was declared dead. The incident happened on December 2021, but it seems netizens are still looking up for the news, which may be because recently, another construction worker lost his life.
According to CBS News, a construction train struck and killed a worker on the future site of the Wilshire/La Brea Station on Metro’s Purple Line Extension Project on Wednesday. Many construction workers lose their lives on the jobs because of security reasons as well as the nature of the work.

The worker who was sucked into the pipe was identified as Zeng. He was 50 years old, and his tragic death saddened everyone at that time.
