Celebrity chef, Giada Pamela De Laurentiis, was born on August 22, 1970, in Rome, Italy, as the eldest child of Veronica De Laurentiis during her first marriage to Alex De Benedetti. Her mother was an actress while her father was an actor-producer at that time.
As a child and as most young girls would – Playing in the kitchen or imitating to cook, Gaida did just that, as she was often found playing in the family kitchen, practicing and doing what she would later a career. As she got older, she spent a lot of time at her grandfather’s restaurant, DDL Foodshow, as she learned about the business of the food industry.
Following her parents’ divorce, Giada DeLaurentiis and her younger brother moved to Southern California, choosing to carry their mother’s surname. It was then that she enrolled at Marymount High School in Los Angeles and subsequently graduated. She then went on to pursue a bachelor’s degree in social anthropology at the University of California in 1996.
At the time she was studying at L.Gaida worked in various restaurants as a chef to make ends meet. Previously, she had trained as a pastry chef at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris. This experience, coupled with his hands-on experience, helped accelerate his status and recognition as a professional chef.
She notably gained fame as a food stylist when she styled a consumer piece in Food and Wine magazine in 2012. This prompted the Food Network to take notice of her raw but enormous food talent. There are already plans to open a second kitchen in Las Vegas, while ‘Pronto by Giada’ is already fully operational as a casual restaurant. Family – husband, daughter, divorce
The personal family history of Giada De Laurentiis is simple yet sad. Her marriage seemed like a fairy tale when it happened, but it was not to last.
On May 5, 2003, Gaida marriedfamous fashion designer Todd Thompson and had a child with him. The child, a baby girl was named Jade Marie De Laurentiis-Thompson after she was born on March 29, 2008.
She revealed that the experience of having a child was very special, but she does not wish to have more children than the one she already has. Her other babies; the TV show, her husband and daughter were enough for her to steer her career well without losing sight of industry trends.
Sadly, on December 29, 2014, the award-winning chef announced on her website that the split had been estranged from Todd since July of this year. The announcement had announced that they had both decided to end the marriage and that on September 3, 2015, the divorce was complete.
