Richard Donner’s net worth, biography, fact, career, awards and life story

Richard Donner net worth: Richard Donner is an American director and producer who has a net worth of $200 million. That is a combined net worth with his wife wife since 1986, fellow mega-producer Lauren Shuler Donner. Richard directed the 1978 Christoper Reeve-starring “Superman” and then went on to direct and produce all four “Lethal Weapon” movies. He and wife Lauren co-executive produced several “X-Men” movies as well. Richard Donner has directed what are probably some of your favorite movies of the last 30 years. His most notable achievement is probably Superman, which is generally considered the first modern superhero movie, paving the way for films like The Dark Knight and Captain America today. Donner’s career began in the world of television, directing episodes of various westerns. He also directed one of the most famous episodes of The Twilight Zone ever produced, “Nightmare at 20,000 Feet,” starring an increasingly-sweatier William Shatner. He made his feature film debut in 1961, but it wasn’t until The Omen in 1976 that he became a big name in movies. From that, he got the job of helming Superman: The Movie, which was a massive blockbuster success for everyone involved. Unfortunately, creative differences led to Donner’s being removed from the sequel, Superman II, until Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut was released on DVD. Since Superman, Donner also helmed the hugely popular Lethal Weapon series, which did for the “buddy cop” genre what Superman did for superheroes. He’s also continued to work on movies that have turned out to be both hits and flops. Real Estate: The Donners previously owned a custom-built mansion in Maui that sat on 160 feet of ocean frontage. They listed the home for sale in November 2015 for $22 million, ultimately accepting $16.5 million a year later. They continue to own two homes in Los Angeles. The first is a relatively-modest home in Beverly Hills. The second a more impressive property in the Hills above the Sunset Strip that sits on 1.2-acres. They also own the 1.25-acre property next-door. The home on the first parcel is 9,000 square-feet.
