Gary Cahill is currently one of the best central defenders in the world. Gary Cahill Biography
It was in the north east Derbyshire town of Dronfield, England, says the pragmatic defender was born on December 19, 1985. Although he is British, he is also of Irish descent, thanks to his grandparents.
He was raised by his parents. Since childhood, Cahill had always loved football and he supported Sheffield Wednesday.

Club football career
Although it was with Chelsea FC that the skipper made his name, he has come a long way since playing youth football with AFC Dronfield, which he left in 2000 to join Aston Villa.
In 2004, he had already started his senior career with the same team, but he was then loaned to Burnley, where he played until 2005. He was then loaned to the club he supported as a child, Sheffield United , for whom he played from 2007 to 2008. After his loan spell ended, the centre-back was sold to Bolton Wanderers.
After playing 130 games and scoring 13 goals, Cahil made his big move from Bolton to Chelsea in 2012 for an estimated fee of almost £7million. By the end of the 2017/2018 season in which he led the Blues to win the FA Cup against Manchester United, he had already played 189 games for the club, scoring 13 points.
With Chelsea, the aggressive defender won numerous trophies, including the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and two English Premier League titles. He also won the FA Cup, 3 FA Community Shield trophies, and was a FIFA Club World Cup runner-up. With Bolton Wanderers, he won the Player of the Year award in 2009.
National football career
For the England team, Gary Cahill first wore the jersey in 2004 when he played for the Under-20 team. In 2007 he was promoted to the Under-21 team and in 2010 he was called up to wear the nation’s colors with the senior team.
He played for the senior team at UEFA Euro 2012 and the 2014 FIFA World Cup saw the team fail to qualify beyond the group stages. Before the defender was called up to play in the 2018 FIFA World Cup, he had already played 58 games for the country, scoring 4 goals in the process.
In the tournament where the Three Lions ended in fourth place, Gary could only play one match in the group stage against Belgium. In the match, the Lions went down past the Red Devils with a goalless draw, only to go down another 2-goal draw with nothing in the third-place play-off.
