Janice Emms Was A Footballer
Gail’s mum Jan was good at sports. She was a relentless athlete who just wore tracksuits and sneakers.
Growing up, Gail had always believed that all mothers looked like this.
According to telegraph, Jan was a great football player who had retired before Gail was born. She traveled to the 1971 Women’s World Cup with the England squad and played in front of 90,000 spectators in Mexico City.
However, when she returned home, the Football Association banned her for two years for playing in a tournament it did not approve of.
