Gabriella Ratcliffe is the daughter of Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe and Richard Ratcliffe.
Gabriella went with her mother to Iran in March 2016 to visit her grandparents.
However, her mother, Zaghari-Ratcliffe was detained at an Iranian airport in April that year while returning to London with Gabriella.
After the arrests, the little girl’s passport was confiscated and she lived with her mother’s family.
She was cared for by her grandmother, Ratcliffe and other relatives in rotation, as the family fought to free Zaghari-Ratcliffe from jail.
Gabriella communicated with her mother through Skype on and off during this time.
The little girl was five when she was hastily granted permission to fly home to the UK.
On October 11, 2019, Zaghari-Ratcliffe’s daughter returned to her father in the United Kingdom to start school.
