Songs advocating for social justice and resistance are prevalent in Baez’s modern folk music. For more than 60 years, Baez has given public performances and has produced more than 30 recordings. She started recording in 1960 and found popularity right away. Joan Baez, Joan Baez, Vol. 2, and Joan Baez in Concert, her first three albums, were all certified gold.
