On December 4, 1966, Fred Armisen, an American comedian, actor, writer, producer, and musician, was born. Along with his comic partner Carrie Brownstein, Armisen co-created and co-starred in the IFC sketch comedy series Portlandia. He co-created and stars in the mockumentary IFC series Documentary Now! (2015–present), which he co-created with Bill Hader and Seth Meyers, as well as the Showtime comedy series Moonbase 8 (2020–present), which also stars John C. Reilly and Tim Heidecker. He was Speedy Gonzales’ voice actor on The Looney Tunes Show (2011–2013).
Armisen launched ThunderAnt.com, a website that displays the comic skits created with Brownstein, in addition to serving as conductor and frequent drummer for the Late Night with Seth Meyers house band, The 8G Band.
