The end of his career in the late 1990s was marked by playing the father of Jamie Buchman (Helen Hunt) on Mad About You (1992–1999). In addition to winning four Emmy Awards as Archie Bunker, he was also ranked #38 on TV Guide’s 50 Greatest TV Stars of All Time in 1996.
