The New York-born Francine Drescher is an American actress, comedian, writer, and activist. She is known for her role as Fran Fine in the hit TV series The Nanny, and for her nasal voice and thick New York accent.

Her father, Morty, worked with the United States Navy as a systems analyst while her mother, Sylvia, worked as a wedding consultant. Fran Drescher has an older sibling, a sister named Nadine.

Drescher discovered she had the passion and talent to act at a young age and decided to maximize the potential.

She would later join Hillcrest High School in Queens, New York, and her assurance and drive to build up her acting ability made her join the school show division.
