The Fox News presenter is still going strong, but he’s in a lot of discomforts when recording his episodes.
Neil was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 1987. It’s a form of cancer that targets the immune system of the body.
After graduating from St. Bonaventure University with a degree in mass communication in 1980, he was afflicted with cancer just a few years into his profession.
He was treated with radiation and chemotherapy, but ten years later, the television celebrity began to exhibit concerning signs once more.
As he described to People in 2002, the Fox News Channel anchor remembers the summer of 1997 as “stumbling and falling.”
Neil Cavuto Health Update- Is He Sick?
Neil Cavuto is the senior vice president and managing editor of business news for both Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network, where he presents three programs.
The man wears a lot of hats, but there was a time this summer when he believed he’d have to give them all up. “I didn’t believe I’d be able to return,” Cavuto told TheWrap.
“Especially when new issues would surface.” He was referring to issues stemming from the “widowmaker” diagnosis he received last spring.
Which, when paired with multiple sclerosis and cancer in remission, resulted in a dreaded “hat trick” that threatened to ruin his illustrious career.
Initially, the veteran broadcaster had chest aches, exhaustion, and difficulty breathing, which he attributed to his multiple sclerosis progressing.
A simple stress test indicated he required bypass surgery. Cavuto was promptly brought into the hospital once the physicians saw something.
In reality, physicians intended to execute the bypass the same day, delaying surgery only when it became clear how sick Cavuto really was.
