Gordon Brown had suffered from an injury in his left eye which made his fans and followers believe that he has a glass eye as the replacement to the damage, but the former UK PM has not talked about having a glass eye for the treatment.
Gordon had kept his eye issues away from the media, but he revealed it in his memoir My Life, Our Time, Mr. Brown and how he planned for eye surgery. He reveals how he feared he might completely lose his eyesight during his third year in Downing Street.
Brown has been blind in one eye since his teens as he tore a retina in the other eye. When he was having problems seeing properly, he did not tell colleagues and tried to carry on with his cabinet duties.
He further elaborated that when he woke up in Downing Street in 2009, he felt something was wrong with his vision as it was foggy and did his work for that day, but later, he went for a check-up to a prominent surgeon at the Moorfields Eye Hospital in London.

When Gordon Brown was 16 years old, he got kicked in the head while playing rugby in school. Due to the kick he received on the head, he suffered a detached retina in his left eye.
Gordon got immediate treatment due to which he did not lose his eyesight and, he spent months in the hospital getting the treatment and recovering from the injury.
Similarly, he feels he is lucky to have his vision intact even when the retina in his right eye had been torn in two places as said by the Surgeon.
