George Melling, a former Kendal Town footballer, died from motor neuron disease at the age of 37.
George Melling, a former player for Blackpool FC, Morecambe, Altrincham, Northwich Victoria, Leyland Town, Clitheroe FC, Colne FC, and Coppull, was diagnosed with cancer in January of last year.

“I woke up — I think it was February 2020 – and my left arm wasn’t right,” he recalled, recalling when he realized something wasn’t quite right.
