Retired road racing cyclist Floyd Landis has an estimated net worth of $1.5 million as of 2012. He is known to have won the 2006 Tour de France, however, he was later stripped his title after the presence of performance enhancing drugs in his body was found positive.
Floyd Landis became a professional road racing cyclist in 1999. From 1999 through 2001, he was part of the Mercury Cycling Team. From 2002 through 2004, he was one of the members of the U.S. Postal Service but eventually moved to Phonak Hearing Systems, where he played until 2006. In 2009 and 2010, he played for OUCH-Maxxis and Bahati Foundation, respectively. In 2006, he won in Paris–Nice, Tour de Georgia and Tour of California.
The year 2006 was a controversial year for Floyd Landis. After his impressive performance in the 2006 Tour de France, it was found out that the urine sample he submitted had exceptionally high levels of testosterone hormones in the epitestosterone (T/E ratio). Initially, he denied these allegations and he provided back up samples which also proved to be positive. This led to his dismissal from his current team, Phonak Hearing Systems, and suspension from professional cycling. He returned two years later with OUCH Pro Cycling Team.
Floyd Landis was born on October 14, 1975 in Farmersville, Pennsylvania, U.S.
