Teacher Fiona Beal appeared in Northampton Magistrates Court on Monday after being charged with the murder of Nicholas Billingham.
A primary school teacher, Fiona Beal 48, has been charged with murder after the corpse of a missing 42-year-old man was discovered in the back garden of her Northampton home.
She was charged yesterday following her detention on Wednesday at a hotel in Cumbria, more than 200 miles from her Northampton terraced house.
On Saturday afternoon, forensic officials and expert search teams, including a sniffer dog, discovered a body in the back garden that police suspect is that of a missing 42-year-old male.
Mr. Billingham’s remains, described as a 42-year-old officer believed to be missing, were likely to be brought to Leicester for assessment by a Home Office pathologist.
During the two-minute hearing at Northampton Magistrates’ Court, Beal was accompanied by a single female dock officer.
She was informed that she was not eligible to apply for bail and that she would appear in the town’s crown court on Tuesday.

Mr. Billingham was allegedly murdered by Beal, a 48-year-old teacher, between October 30 and November 10, last year.

Mr. Billingham is revealed to be Fiona Beal’s long-term partner whose real name is Nick Billingham. Her family on the other hand is unknown to the public.
The corpse was discovered in the garden of their Northampton home on Saturday, following four days of digging and nearly five months after the alleged murder.
On Wednesday, Beal was apprehended 200 miles away at a motel in Cumbria.
Police were initially called to the Moore Street residence, where they began a thorough search of the entire premises.
