“The Philippine Star” presenter Ramon Mon Tulfo was arrested under the cyber libel charges, as stated by the Manila Police District (MPD).
Broadcaster Tulfo has once again landed in legal trouble as he has been detained by the Manila Police District (MPD).
The city police confirmed that the Philippine media personality was arrested at 10:05 a.m. inside the quadrangle of the Manila City Hall in Ermita.
The Special Mayor’s Reaction Team (SMaRT) and the MPD joined forces to take the notable personality under their custody.
The news of the arrest has bombarded national and international news as the public is more than intrigued to know more about the situation and the reason behind the arrest.
The Philippine Star Presenter Ramon Mon Tulfo Is Arrested Over Libel Case
Ramon Mon Tulfo was arrested over a cyber libel case as per the news provided by MPD. However, they have yet to clear out the case’s background and confirm the reason behind his detention.
Inquirer further reports that Tulfo has been charged with violating Section 4 (c)(4) of Republic Act No. 10175 or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.
The MPD cleared that the arrest order was issued by Manila Regional Trial Court Branch 24 Judge Maria Victoria A. Soriano-Villadolid.
Attorney Lean Cruz had sought the help of the police for Tulfo’s arrest. Cruz is the counsel for the unnamed complainant who initiated the legal proceedings.
