Festus Ezeli is an American-Nigerian NBA player.
At age 16, Ezeli joined a second AAU team and began taking classes at Yuba Community College on a part-time basis.
He was allowed to train with the team and keep his four years of college eligibility by not enrolling full-time.
He also acted as the team’s cameraman. In the summer of 2007, he made his high-level competition debut on the AAU circuit while still mastering the most fundamental basketball abilities.
He received an invitation to the Reebok All-American Camp in July 2007 after growing to a height of 6’11” (2.11 m) and averaging 10 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 blocks per game.
The moment Ezeli arrived at the camp, his life took a significant shift. Writer Pablo S. Torre for Sports Illustrated claims that
“Recruiters were waiting for him like Bigfoot when he arrived. Even though it was obvious that Ezeli lacked confidence, they departed in awe of his stature and untapped potential.
