Jane Watson, a defender for the Silver Ferns, has revealed that she is expecting a child. Will her pregnancy rule her out of the ANZ Championship?
A crucial part of the Silver Ferns’ defensive line, Watson has appeared in 52 tests since making her debut in 2016. She was one of the best performers for the Ferns in the 2019 Netball World Cup, shining in the defensive circle.
On Monday, November 29, Jane Watson announced on social media that she and her partner are expecting a child next year.
Jane revealed on her Instagram about her pregnancy by posting a picture of her child’s sonogram image.
“New adventures ahead! Very excited about our 2022 pēpē,” she remarked.
Many people have congratulated her, including Shannon Saunders, who commented, “So happy for you both!!! That is the absolute best news.”
Watson will not play for the Mainland Tactix in the ANZ Premiership, which starts in March, and will also miss the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, which begin in late July 2022.
Jane’s loss will be felt in the Silver Ferns’ defensive circle for the Games, but New Zealand’s defensive strength will be strengthened for the national training camp in Wellington next month.
Jane Watson Partner And Married Life, Meet Her Husband
Jane Watson has been dating Will Carter since 2015, although the couple has yet to get married.
Her 30 years old fiance Will, is mistaken for her spouse since they’ve been living together.
The pair acknowledged that they have similar beliefs and are both “competitive.”
Their remarkable collection of board games has been confined to a cabinet due to the pair’s high spirit.
Will stated that he couldn’t play them because he didn’t like losing. “But we’re chilled-out about everything else.” He further added in an interview.
On the other hand, Jane knows she can depend on Will to be her biggest supporter on the sidelines.
When Was Her Wedding? Family and Kids
Jane admitted that she and Will started dating at the end of 2015.
To play for the Southern Steel, Jane had to travel quickly from her hometown of Christchurch to Invercargill. Since then, the pair maintained a long-distance relationship during the netball season, which Will admits they had complications.
They got engaged in 2017 but have kept their wedding plans a secret.
They also have a son, who is 3-4 years old. He is frequently seen on Jane’s Instagram account.
