Morgan Vague Plastic Experiment Details
She first researched Polyethylene terephthalate or PET plastics and started looking for microbes that degrade plastic in water and soil.
In Portland, Oregon, she began testing 300 strains of bacteria to obtain an enzyme called lipase that can digest plastic.
20 of the 300 strains produced lipase that was fed to three microbes PET. After experimenting, she discovered that the bacteria digested the plastic and broken it into other smaller components.
If this research is taken into practice, our world can soon become plastic-free and drastically reduce the dumping problem of plastic.
How Old Is Morgan Vague? Age Revealed
