Waukesha police reported Monday that Darrell E. Brooks Jr. has been charged with five counts of intentional homicide.
Waukesha Police Chief Dan Thompson said that he drove through the downtown Christmas parade on purpose to avoid a domestic disturbance that had occurred minutes before.
Prosecutors reported during his court appearance that a sixth victim, a kid, had died as a result of their injuries. According to WISN, Jackson Sparks, 8, died on Monday.
According to Youngsters’ Wisconsin, thirty-eight other children were still in the hospital as of Tuesday night. Brooks looked to cry in court on Tuesday when he learned he had been charged with the murder of a child.

The footage was taken using a Ring camera at Daniel Rider’s residence in downtown Waukesha on Sunday.

One pending prosecution against Brooks was that Darell Brooks hit a woman with his car following a disagreement in early November.
Prosecutors in Milwaukee County said their bail suggestion was “inappropriately low” given the facts of the case and the incident on Sunday and that they would reconsider it.
According to a defense attorney, and former assistant prosecutor, the bail could easily have been set more than twice as high.
Darell is also a convicted sex offender in Nevada, having gotten a 15-year-old pregnant in 2006. Brooks had to register as a convicted sex offender and keep track of his records.
Brooks didn’t cooperate, according to authorities, and a warrant for his arrest was issued after he became non-compliant.
Brooks was arrested a decade later for violating sex offender laws as a result of that conviction. According to police in Sparks, NV, he was released on bail but never returned to court.
