Expedition X: Did Josh Gates Divorce With His Wife Hallie?

Josh Gates, an American paranormal researcher, television presenter and producer, hosted and co-executed many adventure shows for Syfy and the Discovery Channel.

The two shows that Gates initially gained prominence for were Destination Truth and Stranded, both shows he hosted and was the co-executive producer of, aired on the channel Syfy.

Destination Truth was created by Michael and Neil Mandt and ran for 55 episodes and five seasons from June 6, 2007, to August 14, 2012.

The premise of Destination Truth was that the program would follow Josh Gates as he investigated claims of the supernatural with an emphasis on the field of cryptozoology around the world.

Stranded was created by Josh Gates and ran for six episodes and one season from February 7 to April 3, 2013.

The show’s premise was that each episode would feature a three-person team of paranormal enthusiasts and skeptics who would spend several days alone at allegedly haunted locations in North America.

Currently, Gates hosts and co-executes the series Expedition: Unkown and Legendary Locations for The Discovery Channel.

He is also a favorite hosting live specials for, as a guest investigator, the television series Ghost Hunters and its spinoff Ghost Hunters International.

He also produces the Ghost Nation series and other paranormal television shows through Ping Pong Productions, his production company.

Did Josh Gates Divorce His Wife Hallie?

On August 2021, Hallie Gnatovich announced on an Instagram post that the couple had finalized their divorce on June 13, 2021.

In the same Instagram post, Gnatovich also stated that the couple had been separated for about a year and a half before the announcement.

Gates met and worked together with Hallie Gnatovich on the set of Destination Truth.

The two married on September 13, 2014, at Hidden Pond, a luxury resort in Kennebunkport, York County, Maine, and have two children together.

Neither party has revealed why they divorced, and Gnatovich has not stated anything more after her one Instagram post.

Although Gates and Gnatovich met on set at Destination Truth, Gnatovich was not there as an actress but as a researcher. Gnatovich was consulted for five episodes in 2008 and three in 2012.

Outside of her role as a researcher in Destination Truth, Gnatovich is a therapist and runs Hallie G Therapy out of Los Angeles.

Gnatovich is also queer and has been practicing therapy since 2010.

Learn More About Expedition X

Expedition X is a spinoff of the Expedition Unknown series that Josh Gates premiered on February 12, 2020.

Unlike his other shows, Gates does not accompany the main team into the field, though he does present the episode from the Expedition HQ.

The show is hosted by Jessica Chobot, who also writes for the show, and features biologist Phil Torres.

Expedition X explores more explicitly paranormal topics than those typically covered by Expedition Unknown.

The show has run for five seasons, with each season airing for two months consisting of six or seven seasons.

As the show is under the banner of Expedition Unknown, it is produced by Gate’s production company Ping Pong Productions and airs on Discovery Channel.

Gates started hosting Expedition Unknown after the end of Destination Truth and his various roles in Ghost Hunters.

The show has run for nine seasons and is currently on its tenth season. It has also had several special seasons and miniseries such as Extra Finds, Hunt for the Yetis, Hunt for Extraterrestrials, Search for the Afterlife, and Expedition: Back to the Future.

The series also has its after-shows and often links with other shows, the most prominent being Shark Week.

How Rich Is Josh Gates?

Paranormal researcher, explorer, and television producer Josh Gates has an estimated net worth of about $4 million.

The success of Expedition Unknown is not to be underestimated. The series is an entire microcosm of a channel itself with all of its seasons, specials, and spin-offs.

Gates makes about $100,00 per year just as the show’s host. As the person who runs the production company that produces all these shows, Gates makes money that the viewers don’t even know in the back end.

Each episode of Expedition Unknown garners half a million viewers at the minimum.

Alongside Expedition Unknown, its many special seasons and miniseries, and Expedition X, Gates has recently launched what might be the most successful venture of them all: Josh Gates Tonight.

Josh Gates Tonight is also a spinoff that was originally created to fill in at the end of Expedition Unknown’s eighth season due to the COVID-19 lockdown.

From this inauspicious start, Josh Gates Tonight went from being a part of Expedition Unknown to being classified as a separate series.

The show features Gates interviewing various celebrities through videoconference, comedy bits, field segments, and, strangely, cocktail recipes.

At the beginning of the pandemic, the show was recorded at Gates’ home, but production moved to Expedition headquarters as the restrictions loosened.
