Leslie Louise Bibb was born in Bismarck, North Dakota on November 17, 1944. She was raised by a single mother after her father died when she was three years old. She grew up with three older sisters named Kim, Bev and Trish.
Her family later moved to Richmond, Virginia, where she attended St. Gertrude High School. She got her start in modeling when she won a national pageant in 1990. After completing her junior year, she traveled to New York to sign a modeling contract with Elite Agency. During that summer, Leslie Bibb modeled for Elite and traveled to Japan.
