Julene Thorburn is the wife of murderer Rick Thorburn. She was aware that he was placing the body of the couple’s deceased foster daughter, Tiahleigh Palmer, in the car’s boot around 8:00 p.m.
Thorburn backed his blue Ford Falcon into the shed after nightfall while Julene watched from their Chambers Flat house south of Brisbane.
In order to prevent the authorities from tracing his phone while disposing of the 12-year-body old’s from being tracked, he left his phone at home with his wife.
Julene Thorburn | Rick Thorburn’s Wife Religion And Ethnicity
People are looking for Julene Thorburn’s religion and ethnicity after she was involved in the murder of her foster daughter, Tiahleigh Palme.
However, whatever may be her belief and origin, we cannot blame her action on her particular religion and upbringing.
For lying to the court and trying to sway the outcome of the case, she received an 18-month prison term that was suspended after six months.
However the mother she was, but she is a loyal wife who still pays a visit to a man because he “doesn’t have anybody else.” She believed that she had a “duty” to stick by him “for better or worse” in observance of their wedding vows.
Thorburn is serving life imprisonment for killing 12-year-old Gold Coast schoolgirl Tiahleigh Palmer on October 29, 2015.
Fishermen discovered her decomposed body six days later on the banks of the Pimpama River. This heinous crime horrified the country.
Trent Thorburn, who was 18 years old the night Tialeigh was slain, told his mother Julene that he had had intercourse with the student and was concerned that she might be pregnant.
Thorburn said he accidentally smothered the 12-year-old girl during an inquest hearing on Tuesday when she tried to leave the house after an argument. But officials don’t buy his explanation.
Julene, his wife, revealed before the inquest that she routinely speaks to her husband and feels obligated to go visit him in prison.
Thorburn admitted to killing her, but he had never previously described how he killed her.
Tiahleigh had attended a hip-hop dance class the day before she passed away and reported having stomach issues.
Trent told his mother that day that they had had intercourse and that he thought the girl’s stomach aches were a sign she was pregnant.
Tiahleigh spent two hours at home by herself with her foster father starting at 8 o’clock that evening.
She was never again seen alive. Trent and Joshua Thorburn, Tiahleigh’s brother, testified at the inquest that they believed the sexual interaction was the reason Tiahleigh died.
Tiahleigh Palmer’s Killer Rick Thorburn Found Unconscious in Jail
Rick Thorburn, the killer of 12-year-old foster kid Tiahleigh Palmer, was discovered unconscious in his cell.
A spokesman for Queensland Corrective Services stated, “a prisoner was transferred to hospital from Wolston Correctional Centre after being found unresponsive in his cell this morning.”
The Queensland Corrective Services Investigations Unit did not confirm the circumstances that resulted in his hospitalization (CSIU).
According to initial reports, the 62-year-old guy appeared to be in good health earlier in the morning. But he was discovered unconscious in his cell at around 8.30 a.m..
“At the moment, he was in a single cell.”
To stabilize the prisoner until paramedics could arrive, responding cops started first aid and collaborated with Queensland Health staff.
The CSIU has been asked to look into the situation. Police claim that Thorburn attempted his life shortly after his detention in 2016.
Thus, her biological mother, Cindy Palmer, lashed out at her daughter’s killer after he allegedly made a second attempt on his life while inside.
She stated she wasn’t shocked to learn that Thorburn had been admitted to the hospital because he had previously attempted suicide.
Palmer told Daily Mail Australia, “He is a nasty worm and so is his wife from the phone recordings we heard during the inquest.”
She mentioned that the Deputy State Coroner for Queensland, Jane Bentley, concluded in her inquest report that Thorburn had not expressed regret for the 12-year-death.
Rick Thorburn Was In Jail When Found Unresponsive
Rick Thorburn was in jail when he was found lying unconscious. He was sentenced to life in prison after he pleaded guilty to killing his foster daughter in 2018.
However, Thorburn claimed he suffocated her unintentionally.
Before her death was determined to be intentional, it took more than seven years after the murder. It’s still not clear if she choked to death or asphyxiated.
The deputy state coroner declared Thorburn “totally without regret for any of his offenses” in June 2021.
“I do not believe that Richard Thorburn killed Tiahleigh by mistake. Jane Bentley remarked, “I think he did it on purpose.”
Julene, Thorburn’s wife, and his two sons have all been sentenced to prison for their roles in the death of Tiahleigh.
Josh was accused of perverting the course of justice, while Trent was given a four-year term and charged with incest and perjury.
Julene was also accused of tampering with the court system.
He won’t be eligible for parole until 2036, as things stand. But, Ms. Bentley urged the Queensland Parole Board to consider “Mr. Thorburn’s lack of remorse for killing Tiahleigh and his lack of cooperation with the inquest.”
