Anthony testified similarly to Cassidy Hutchinson. He stated that Trump was trying to enrage the capital crowd by making himself available in the Capitol in such a crowded environment.

Likewise, Trump did want to leave as he was seated in the presidential car to be ready to reach the location. Trump told the communication chief of the secret service that he wanted to go to the capital chaos, but his hidden service detail did not allow it to happen.
After the stubbornness of Trump, Other agency personnel reached out to other personnel and enforcement partners to transport Trump to the Capitol; they started developing an operational route for Trump to reach the Capital.
However, Anthony Engel did not allow Trump’s motives to succeed. Later on, the former president made various deliberate statements about the secret service not letting him to the Capitol.
