Neal is not going to work out during the NFL Combine. He is getting measured and participating in interviews and meetings with both teams and reporters, but he will not be performing any of the athletic tests.
On Thursday, Neal stood at a combine podium in Indianapolis and made news just by showing up. All the massive former Alabama left tackle had to do was stand there, and Twitter instantly did the rest, with photos depicting an incredibly lean physique for a 337-pound giant.
He looked more like a tight end from another planet than an offensive tackle, as slim and trim as a man his size can possibly be and likely at the peak condition of his life. He left without participating in a single drill, yet remained every bit the potential No. 1 overall draft pick that he was when he flew into town.
