Eric Demetric Dickerson is a legendary former professional American football player who had a big effect on the National Football League throughout his 11-year career (NFL). Dickerson, who was born on September 2, 1960, was an All-American football player for the Southern Methodist University Mustangs.
He was taken in the first round of the 1983 NFL Draft as one of the most gifted players in his class. Dickerson had myopia throughout his career and had to wear prescription goggles, yet this did not affect how well he played.
He became one of the top performers in the league in his first season with the Los Angeles Rams, setting rookie records for most rushes, yards, and touchdowns. He later broke O. J. Simpson’s record by becoming the first player to rush for more than 2,000 yards in a single season.
