Eoghan McDermott is taking legal action against Twitter with the hope of closing the chapter which had been going around for a year.
The host of the RTE 2fm breakfast show has opened up about the damage that has been done through the false allegations that have been made against him.
As per reports, McDermott had a sexual relationship with a young girl around October 2010 and an anonymous Twitter account had made allegations against him in March 2021.
Since then he has already left a job at RTE with the company confirming his expired contract.

Eoghan McDermott’s rape allegations are widely discussed on Reddit and other online platforms.
After he recently revealed the false allegations including sexual assault and illegal drug use that were made against him, Reddit users are actively participating in presenting their views regarding the matter.
Apparently, the young girl he had been sexually involved with in 2010 had claimed McDermott to have fled the country after the claims and used his family’s influence to pervert the court of justice.
The accuser also claimed the radio presenter and TV host, McDermott, to be engaged in illegal drug use in a work-related video.
Now, Eoghan McDermott had revealed that the allegations were spread widely despite being investigated and verified.
Also, the accuser had accepted to be above the age of consent during her sexual interaction with McDermott. Most of the Reddit users are siding with the former broadcaster after his reveal and are asking to reveal the name of the accuser, which led him to lose his job.
Meanwhile, Twitter stans are against McDermott for his wrongdoing. He was 27 at the time of his sexual interaction with the young girl. She was 17 in 2010.

Eoghan McDermott’s girlfriend turned partner is Aoife Melia.
They were former partners, who decided to break up to pursue their respective careers and found themselves in each other’s arms after 7 years.
Melia, a certified doctor who moved to Scotland to complete her education ended her relationship with Eoghan but in 2016 they rekindled their relationship.
