Aside from his superb performance on the baseball field, Enrique Hernandez is highly regarded for being outstanding on multiple spots. The Puerto Rican born athlete turned pro in 2009 after which he went on to represent several baseball teams in Major League Baseball (MLB). Currently, he spots the #14 Los Angeles Dodgers jersey and plays as a utility player for the professional baseball team based in Los Angeles, California.
Before Enrique started regrouping with Dodgers, he already made field appearances for the Houston team, The Houston Astro as well as the Miami Marlins, where he appeared in eighteen games and hit .175. (seven hits on 40 batters at bat) for the Marlins. Although the baseball player exhibits more professional skills as an outfielder, he has featured in MLB in every position except catcher.
Enrique Hernandez bio
Enrique was raised by Puerto Rican parents Enrique Hernández Sr. and Mónica González along with his two younger sisters whose names are missing on the card. His mother, who is fashionable and owns a clothing store in Toa Baja, gave birth to him on August 24, 1991, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. His father is a baseball scout who currently works for the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Hernandez spent his childhood bonding as a baseball sport with his father who had hoped to play big league baseball, but his dreams were cut short when the draft failed to reach his home country at the time, coupled to a car accident that ultimately nullified any opportunity for him to sign as a free agent in MLB. Despite this, the elder Hernandez is grateful to his only son for living his dream in spectacular fashion. To this day, about 75-80% of their father and son’s conversations are about baseball and his fans love it.
Enrique Hernandez received his high school education at the United States Military Academy in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. As a junior he was 5ft 6in but then grew 5in in his senior year.
Baseball career
The Puerto Rican utility player launched his professional career in 2009 when he was selected in the 6th round of that year’s MLB draft by The Houston Astros, who completed the trade with a $150,000 signing bonus. However, Enrique didn’t make his MLB debut until July 1, 2014, as a defensive replacement in a game against the Seattle Mariners. The athlete was then traded to the Miami Marlins in the same month, precisely on July 31, 2014. His stint with the Marlins, where he appeared in 18 games for the Miami baseball team and hit .175 ( seven hits in 40 at-bats).
Five months later, Hernández joined the Los Angeles Dodgers after being traded by the Marlins along with some of his teammates. He has worked with the Dodgers since 2015, having signed a one-year contract worth $1.6 million for 2018 with the team in January 2018.
Wife or girlfriend, is he married or dating?
The Los Angeles Dodgers utility player is neither single nor married, but he’s off the market. While it may be heartbreaking for the women crushing the hunk, we can’t help but announce that the lucky beauty is none other than Puerto Rican model, actress, and beauty pageant titleholder Mariana Vicente, born Mariana Paola Vicente Morales.
The 5-foot-8 model and Enrique Hernandez share the same birthplace but different birthdays. While the 2010 Miss Universe Puerto Rico winner was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico too, her date of birth is January 8, 1989 – she is two years older than her boyfriend.
The eldest of Ramón Vicente (a businessman) and PR agent Izayma Morales’ four children – Sebastián Vicente, Claudia Sofia Vicente and Ramón Vicente, Mariana reportedly got engaged to the baseball player sometime in July 2017. While we’re sure the wedding bells will be ringing very soon, the adorable lovebirds have yet to announce their wedding date and plans.
Body stats: height and weight
Obviously not in the class of greatest MLB players, Enrique’s height of 1.80 meters (5 feet 11 inches) and weight of 77 kilograms did not pose much of a threat to his professional career. Although he is far from the standard MLB height, he has struggled against several giants and his presence on the field often yields impressive results for his team.
