Emily Erwin Biography
Emily Erwin is a well-known American Multimedia Journalist, editor, producer, videographer, designer, writer, and teacher. She covers local stories, for she states in her biography that local stories are the key to building strong communities. Prior to joining KBAK/BKFX, Erwin worked behind the camera as a creative media producer for Stanford University, where she produced media for faculty, colleges and special departments on campus. Still, in the University, she worked together with award-winning professors and interviewed countless high profile named industry leaders.
Upon her graduation from Arizona State University and attaining her degree, in journalism, she after some time joined FOX Sports West and began working there. With time she went on to become a digital media specialist and video editor for a media company in San Francisco.

On Sunday, June 30th this year, 2019, Erwin gave a report on a community rallying around a four-year-old local boy, Greyson Franklin, who battled cancer for a second time. The report stated that Greyson was cancer-free for almost a year before his family got the heartbreaking news that he would have to battle cancer all over again. Mark Woodward, Greyson’s grandpa, was stacking the deck against his grandson’s disease with the assistance of the whole community.
“Everybody that we called just dove on board,” Woodward said. He additionally organized Greyson’s Gala to help raise money for his treatment. A couple of well-wishers responded to his call, including caterers, sponsors, a DJ and even a gang of dressed up superheroes who donated their time and money to help put on Greyson’s Gala at Harvest Hall at the Kern County Fair Grounds.
Woodward showed a heart of gratitude by stating, “It’s not me it’s not my wife, it’s the community that’s made this happen.” Moreover, his approach to the event was a celebration of Greyson’s strength.
