The performer claimed that her mom battled addiction, which started after a severe accident when she was only 16 years old. She was struck by a drunk motorist, sent 90 feet into the air, and nearly fractured every bone in her body. Kathleen spent about a year in the hospital.
She was in constant back agony when she exited. The system gave her pain medication because she had three slipped disks, which backfired.
Despite the grief her mother’s passing caused the family, Ellen said they didn’t talk much about it.
