Elise Finch, a CBS New York meteorologist who was beloved by viewers, died suddenly at the age of 51. Her untimely death was announced on Sunday evening, shortly after she breathed her last at a local hospital in New York. Her cause of death has yet to be identified.
Elise, also known as Elise Dione Finch Henriques, joined the WCBS team in 2007 as a weekend meteorologist and stayed with the network for an incredible 16 years. She had most recently worked on the morning news show and had joined the 9 a.m. newscast in September of the previous year.
CBS expressed their profound sadness in a statement, describing Elise as an extraordinarily brilliant and passionate professional who approached her work with the utmost attention.
They also recognized her tremendous contributions to the community, notably in Mount Vernon, her hometown. Above all, Elise was known for being a devoted mother to her daughter Grace and a supporting wife to her husband, Graig Henriques, a photojournalist at WCBS.
