Eivin Kilcher Bio- Age, Childhood, and Education
Eivin Kilcher was born on the 6th March 1983 in Homer, Alaska USA, the son of Otto Kilcher and his second wife, Sharon McKemie. Eivin has a younger brother Levi Kilcher, and a younger half-brother, August, whose mother is Charlotte, Otto Kilcher’s third wife.
Eivin is also a step-brother to Torrey, who is the son of Charlotte and her previous husband. From an early age, he was taught the survival skills needed, growing-up in the wilderness of Alaska. Without any modern technology, Eivin depended on his senses and local knowledge since he was a young boy. He went only to a high school in Homer, and after matriculation focused on working on the family’s stead.
Career Beginnings
Fishing for Eivin is a lifestyle, rather than a hobby, as he was taught how to fish in Alaska’s icy waters from an early age, while hunting also became one of the main skills needed to survive.
As he was growing-up, he became interested in machines found on the Kilcher grounds, and began repairing them if there was work needed. One more set of skills was recognizing edible plants that grow in the wilderness, harvesting and storing them for the winter, becoming the essential provider for the family before the long winters and dark days. The entire Kilcher family drew the attention of several production houses, and in 2011 the family was invited by the Discovery Channel to participate in the show “Alaska: The Last Frontier”.

The Kilchers – most dominantly Atz Lee Kilcher, Otto, Eivin, Atz, Charlotte, Eve and Jane – were cast in the show that followed them on their daily routines, recording all their ups and downs living in Alaska. The first episode premiered on the 29th December 2011, and since then 140 episodes have aired, with Eivin appearing in 104 episodes so far. He has become a television star, alongside the rest of the Kilchers, and fans have just loved them and the entire show.
The series has recently ended its ninth season, and the cameras are shut down until October this year when it’s assumed that the tenth season will be premiered.
Although they live in remote Alaska, the family has found a way to amuse themselves, and are known for their yodeling skills, and have launched the career of Jewel Kilcher, daughter of Atz Kilcher and his wife Lenedra Kilcher.
Eivin has been involved in a number of dangerous situations during his missions to obtain food for the family.
One was when he and his father were trying to move the entire building from one place to another. Back in 2018 Eivin suffered a broken rib, which kept him at home and making muffins for quite a while, before he was able to hunt and fish again.
