Dustin Michael Kensrue (pronounced KENZ-rue) is a singer, songwriter, and rhythm guitarist for the Orange County, California-based post-hardcore/experimental rock band Thrice, as well as a solo artist. On his left forearm, he has a tattoo of Proverbs 9:10a (“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge”) inscribed in Hebrew. Many of his lyrics are inspired by the Bible, such as the pre-chorus of Vheissu’s song “For Miles” (“There is no greater love, than that one shed his blood for his friends”). Lyrics like these may be found throughout his work, both in Thrice and on his solo albums. Dustin created all of the album artwork for Thrice’s fifth studio album, The Alchemy Index. Dustin also contributed vocals to the song “The Contender” from experimental group The Out Circuit’s album “Pierce the Empire With a Sound.” Dustin is working on a new project called The Modern Post, and the Grace Alone EP was published in 2012.
