Dublin Man Conor Flynn Jailed Over Violation, What Are His Exact Charges?

Conor Flynn, a father of three, was sentenced to six months in prison for secretly filming a woman while they were having sex and sharing the footage on Snapchat.

The woman was severely traumatized by the betrayal, which had an impact on her relationships with other men and delayed her recovery. Judge Kelly noted that despite everything, the victim was able to keep her composure, dignity, and resolve to abstain from drugs.

The victim received praise from the judge for her moral fortitude. She considered the defendant’s admission of guilt and the fact that he “obviously regrets his acts.”

Who Is Conor Flynn From Dublin?

Irishman Conor Flynn, 47, works as a laborer for a construction firm with offices on Tyrconnell Road in Inchicore. He visited a Dublin addiction recovery facility frequently since he struggled with drug addiction.

One year prior, he had made a sex tape of a female without getting her consent. After Conor posted the tape to his “top contacts” on the messaging service, the woman testified in court that she felt “violated and traumatized.”

She and Flynn met while they were both going through addiction rehabilitation, and while she was giving him a sex act at his house, Flynn secretly recorded her.

She stated that it made her feel “powerless” for others to have seen a film of her that she had not viewed and had not given her approval to. She said that when confronted, he claimed he had emailed the film to his relatives, and she found this claim to be “perverse.”

It made her “physically sick” to have to rely on him to ensure that it was only distributed to the people he had specified.

Conor Flynn Jailed Over Violation Of Women

Conor Flynn had betrayed the woman’s trust by making a sex video and leaking it while she was at her most vulnerable, according to Judge Treasa Kelly, who sentenced him to six months in jail.

Garda Ails McBride said in court that Flynn secretly videotaped the victim engaging in intercourse with him and then posted the footage on social media without getting her permission.

On May 16, 2021, this took place at his residence. Flynn made a statement at the Kilmainham garda station when the case was being examined.

The defendant allegedly transmitted the video to three or four of his closest Snapchat friends, albeit the recipients were not named in court.

As she read her victim impact statement in court, the woman, who was in her early 30s, started crying. “My body reacts in a primitive, instinctive way; I freeze within, I quake,” she claimed when she saw Flynn today.

What Are The Charges Conor Flynn Facing?

Conor Flynn had a significant number of prior convictions for offenses like robbery, extortion, blackmail, and escape from custody.

According to Mervyn Harnett, the victim received a “heartfelt apology” from Flynn.

He had always been open and truthful with the gardai. Although he acknowledged that sharing photos of such a private nature was still illegal, the film was sent via “impermanent media.”

It wasn’t until after that that the absence of consent was disclosed. When the victim met Flynn, who was further along in his recovery, she had been a “weak lady,” according to Judge Kelly.
