Dua Zahra’s Case Update: Husband Zaheer Ahmed And Brother Shabbir Got Interim Bail Extension

Dua gained national attention after she unexpectedly vanished from Karachi in April. She subsequently claimed that she had fled her home to wed Zaheer.

Tuesday saw the continuation of temporary pre-arrest bail for Zaheer Ahmed, the main suspect in the Dua Zahra “kidnapping” case, and his brother Shabbir.

The brothers’ requests for an extension of their bail were heard by Additional District and Sessions Judge (East) Rajesh Chandar Rajput.

Both have been arrested for the suspected kidnapping of the adolescent girl.

Dua Zahra’s Case Update

Zaheer Ahmed, accused of kidnapping and marrying a minor girl named Dua Zahra, was ordered on Wednesday by the court magistrate (East) to provide his call records from April 15 to April 19.

The parents of Dua Zahra reported her missing in the middle of April. Later, it got discovered that she had wed Zaheer Ahmed in Lahore.

The court then ordered the IO to present the CDR for the new number at the following session. In addition, it requested a further challan in the matter, and the hearing got postponed until July 20.

Jibran Nasir, the attorney for Mehdi Kazmi, the father of Dua Zahra, said at the hearing that new investigation orders made the challan for classifying the case as class-C invalid.

The petitioner sought that Zaheer is punished if he were found guilty of rape since neither the laws of Sindh nor those of Punjab allow marriage before the age of 16.

On August 1, the adolescent girl is scheduled to be brought before Judicial Magistrate Aftab Ahmed Bughio by the investigating officer in the Dua Zehra kidnapping case.

On July 16, the police informed a sessions court that 24 people, including Zaheer and his brother, had been suspected of taking part in Dua’s unauthorized union with Zaheer.
