Dr. Okonji is a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrist and has been practicing medicine for 32 years. He has MBChB from the University of Nairobi, MRCPsych from the Royal College of Psychiatrists and DPM from the Royal College of Physicians and the Royal College of Surgeons.
He has worked as a Deputy Director of Medical Services (Kenya) for ten years and he is the treasurer of the Kenya Psychiatric Association. He is a member of the Kenya Medical Association and the American Psychiatric Association.
