He then graduated from Western Europe’s technical universities in metallurgical engineering. Khan then joined the organization in 1974 after learning about India’s nuclear test called the smiling Budha.

Previously, he was employed by the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation as the main Inspector of weights and measures from 1956-1959. From there, Khan traveled to Germany to study material science at the Technical University in 1965. He then received an engineer’s degree in Materials technology that is equivalent to a Master of Science offered in English-speaking nations.

Khan then worked under a Belgian professor named Martin J. Nrabers at Leuven University. Martin was the one supervising his doctoral thesis that was really advocated by Khan. His thesis included fundamental work on martensite and some of its extended industrial applications in the field of graphene morphology.
