The popular fictional character Donnie Baker, played by comedian Ron Sexton, is a regular on the widely broadcast US radio show “The Bob & Tom Show.”
The program was started by Bob Kevoian and Tom Griswold on March 7, 1983, at radio station WFBQ in Indianapolis, Indiana. Since January 6, 1995, the program has been widely syndicated.
The show’s recurring character Donnie Baker, beautifully acted by Ron Sexton, is recognized for his real hillbilly accent and timely calls.
He tells amusing anecdotes with a punchline about a close friend’s occasionally relevant experiences. One of Donnie’s recurring plots centers on his persistent efforts to sell a boat, which have given rise to a comic dispute with his fictitious “neighbor to the north,” Tony Mitchell.
