Shula is best known as the legendary coach of the Miami Dolphins from 1970-1995. He led the team to two Super Bowl victories and to the only perfect season in the National Football League (NFL). He was named 1993 Sportsman of the Year by Sports Illustrated and currently holds the NFL records for most career wins with 347. He only had two losing seasons in his 36-year career of coaching in the league. He had been head coach for a record of six Super Bowls.
Before serving as the coach for the Dolphins, Don Shula coached the Detroit Lions from 1960-1062 and the Baltimore Colts from 1963-1969. He was also a player in the NFL from 1951-1957.
