On Monday, January 23, the 2023 fashion season officially began with the Fashion Week show. Irina Shayk donned a lioness outfit, and Kylie Jenner even had a large 3D lion’s head affixed to her black velvet minidress as she went around in a black fur coat with a wolf’s head peeking out from the shoulder.
The animals represented the leopard, lioness, and she-wolf from the show’s theme, Dante Alighieri’s Inferno. The poem recounts how the ancient Roman poet Virgil led the Italian author on a tour through Hell.
However, singer Doja Cat stole the show with one of the most eye-catching looks. She was covered in red Swarovski crystals from head to toe and wore a coordinated crimson ensemble created by the fashion house.
More than 30,000 ruby red Swarovski crystals adhered to Doja Cat’s body as she attended the fashion show, covering her entire head, neck, shoulders, arms, hands, and even her eyelids. The manual application of the stones to Doja took close to five hours.
Makeup artist Pat McGrath, who created the eye-catching dazzling look, praised Doja on Instagram for having “sublime patience” throughout the four hours and 58 minutes it took to create the look. She continued by calling this “inspiring.”
She also showed her 4.8 million followers a video of the amazing outcome, stating that “the final product was a stunning, hypnotic masterpiece of shimmering brilliance.”
