Kyle also defended himself when he was accosted by males who lingered in Kenosha, Wisconsin, on Aug. 25, 2020, during protests after the police shooting of Jacob Blake. When gunfire rang out, it was past an emergency curfew, and police had ordered everyone to disperse.
Judge Bruce Schroeder dismissed the accusations of unlawful possession and curfew violation as legally unsustainable, and a unanimous jury found Rittenhouse not guilty of the other offenses.
