Packham was born on May 4, 1961, in Southampton, Hampshire. Having attended Bitterne Park Secondary School, Taunton’s College, and the University of Southampton, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from the latter institution.
After receiving his degree, he gave up his doctoral studies in philosophy to pursue a career as a wildlife cinematographer. Packham assisted Stephen Bolwell, a wildlife filmmaker, with A Toad’s Tale in 1983 as a part-time camera assistant.
He worked on the BBC television shows The Living Planet and The Living Isles from 1983 to 1985, as well as the Channel 4 series Ourselves and Other Animals.
Does Chris Packham live with his step daughter?
Megan, now 25, was only two years old when her mother Jo, a specialized nurse for the NHS, first introduced her to Chris.
Although they never got hitched, the family did live together and travel regularly, exposing Megan to the marvels of nature and endangered creatures from a young age.
Chris was determined to stay a constant in Megan’s life after the painful breakup of Chris and Jo 13 years ago, and the two have reportedly been inseparable ever since.
