Does amon become a ghoul

As per the anime, Amon was defeated by Ken Kaneki and killed. I have been following the manga. He is alive and has become a ghoul.

Amon Koutarou is the tritagonist of the Tokyo Ghoul series. He is a former A first class police investigator who investigates Ghouls, also known as a Dove. He comes to the 20th ward with his mentor, Mado Kureo, to investigate Ghoul incidents in the area.

And thus in a way , Rize’s soul is now trapped in Kaneki’s body and thus , Rize comes to his mind once in a while , especially when Kaneki is feeling weak and on the brim of defeat , as is evident from her appearance from the Finale of Season 1 when Jason was torturing him .
