The actress recently spoke about her eating disorder in her podcast with Sadie Robertson, and she said, “My biggest fear was that anybody would find out that I had an eating disorder. Because in my head, I’m like, ‘I’m still me, I still have my personality. I still have my heart,'”
PenaVega explained, “But I was living with this secret that I was ashamed of … I was being praised whenever I looked skinnier. And if I didn’t look skinny one day, nobody would compliment me or talk about how beautiful I was, or anything like that,” according to Yahoo.
However, she has not overcome her eating disorder by speaking with people. She also encourages people suffering from similar disorders to seek people to talk to and break off the chains.
