Doctor Who Season 12 Release Date, Cast, News and Updates

Filming has already begun for one of the most anticipated TV shows – Doctor Who season 12. The British sci-fi TV show has garnered a cult following around the world since its inception in 1963. It is set around the adventures of a Time Lord, an alien called “The Doctor” from the planet Gallifrey. The Doctor, alongside his companions, uses a spaceship called the Tardis which allows him to travel through time in the universe, fighting enemies, saving civilizations and bringing aid to those in need. From the outside, the Tardis resembles a British police blue box (a common sight in Britain at the time the series was created), but inside is much larger.

As well as entertaining audiences for decades, Doctor Who is also believed to have influenced several generations of British television scholars. This really comes as no surprise, as many top filmmakers and artists grew up as fans of the show. The show ran from 1963 to 1989, before a hiatus, but returned in 2005 with more exciting packages. It has since been produced by BBC Wales in Cardiff.

Whittaker’s debut in the eleventh series, which premiered in October 2018, garnered positive reviews, despite earlier reservations about her gender. Understandably, fans had stereotyped the role of the Doctor as being only for a man. So when it appeared that a woman was taking her back, her feelings were mixed. Nevertheless, some believe that it will be a good way to represent a role model for young girls. Despite the raised eyebrows over his role in the British sci-fi television programme, Whittaker is already working with the team to bring the iconic role for the twelfth series to life. For its fair value,

Tosin ColeRyan Sinclair

On October 22, 2017, Tosin Cole was announced as the new addition to the cast of the Doctor Who series. He joined the show in time for the eleventh series, playing Ryan Sinclair, a companion to The Doctor.

Born on July 23, 1992, the young British actor has appeared in a string of TV shows and films other than Doctor Who. Some of them include The Cut, EastEnders: E20, Hollyoaks, and Unlocked among many others.

Mandip Gill (Yasmin Khan)
